Can IP Camera systems work without the internet?
Yes You can install an IP Camera system without internet connection on site. It means you won’t be able to access the system remotely but will still be able to view any footage onsite direct from the recorder.
What is the difference between NVR and DVR?
The difference between the two devices can be confusing. A Network Video recorder (NVR) records IP cameras that are transmitted via a network cable. Whereas a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) are used to record analog or coax based cameras.
How often should I test my alarm system?
You should test your security system at least once a month if you are regularly using it. Otherwise, if you only use your alarm for extended period times, you should always test it prior to activating it. A walk-through test feature can be used in accordance to your user manual.
Does NBN affect my monitored alarm system?
The NBN roll out will affect your alarm system. Please talk to one of our friendly staff about your options to address this issue.
If there is a power outage will my security system still work?
Yes, your system will still work. This is due to the device either having their own batteries for this situation or (if a wireless device) will be connected back to the main battery back–up for hardwired systems.
If I lose my internet connection will my security system still work?
No, your system wouldn’t work However, we would never use your internet connection as the only monitoring path. If an internet connection was used, a back-up cellular connection would also be installed in case of this situation occurring.
